Halloween was never meant to wait until sundown. There are pumpkins to carve, treats to sneak, school parades to march in and an entire deliciously spooky day to enjoy before the first trick-or-treater ever reaches the door.
Created for our Nightfall Collection, the Halloween Harlequin Playset brings the mischief of a vintage Halloween clown into something wonderfully easy to wear. Black and purple tumble together with flashes of pumpkin orange, ghostly white and acid green, turning an old-fashioned harlequin diamond pattern into a playful little celebration of October.
A Little Halloween Mischief
Part clown, part harlequin and completely Halloween, the playset pairs a color-blocked top with wonderfully mismatched sleeves in soft chiffon, a soft gathered ruffle at the neck and three oversized fluffy pom-poms marching down the front. Below, riotous diamond-print pants pick up every color in the top, finished with little purple ruffles at the ankle.
It’s theatrical enough to feel special without requiring the architecture of a full costume — an easy transformation for the child who wants to look wonderfully Halloween-y while still being able to run, sit, sprawl, play and get on with the serious business of October.
The Nightfall Hour
Nightfall was created for the softer side of Halloween: those wonderfully strange twighlight hours around the main event when costumes come off but nobody is quite ready for the magic to end.
Wear the playset to school on Halloween day, through a classroom celebration or costume parade, for pumpkin carving and candy sorting at home, or to a Halloween slumber party with friends. It’s equally happy curled up for a spooky movie marathon or racing through the house while everyone gets ready for trick-or-treating.

After the Masks Come Off
And when the parade is over, the face paint is gone and the candy haul has been thoroughly inspected, this little Halloween clown doesn’t have to disappear.

Made for Mischief
The Halloween Harlequin may borrow its drama from the costume closet, but it was designed from the beginning for something much more important: play.
The body and pants are made from wonderfully soft interlock knit, chosen for its comfortable feel, easy movement and the kind of softness children actually want to wear. The pants feature our wonderfully unusual Halloween harlequin diamond print—a rare, difficult-to-find pattern scattered with black, ghostly white, pumpkin orange, orchid purple and flashes of wicked green.
For a little theatrical magic, we’ve paired that soft knit with lightweight sheer chiffon. One contrasting sleeve floats in translucent black while the other brings in orchid purple, both softly gathered with elastic at the wrist for easy movement. The pant legs finish with a sweet sheer orchid ruffle edged in black, giving every step just a little clownish flourish.
Ruffled to Order
And then there’s the ruff.
Choose from our collection of soft, sheer clown collars—from simple ruffles to wonderfully extravagant layered versions—in orchid purple, midnight black, ghostly white, pumpkin orange, or a coordinating harlequin diamond ruff made to echo the pants. Different colors and layers can completely change the personality of the playset, from ghostly Pierrot to mischievous Halloween clown.
Pom-Pom Possibilities
Three oversized, fluffy pom-poms march down the front, adding that wonderfully silly bit of dimensional clown character. Choose the combination shown or make them your own: all one color, three different colors, or a mixed arrangement with two matching and one contrasting, selected from the available Halloween palette.

Care & Shipping
Unlike a permanently attached theatrical collar, the Halloween Harlequin’s ruff is designed with an elastic neckline that simply stretches on and pops right off. Remove the ruff before laundering, then machine wash the playset for easy care.
For best results:
Machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Remove ruff before washing. Lay flat or hang to dry. Do not bleach. Ruff collars should be spot cleaned and reshaped as needed.
